Phantom of the Opera

yup... watched Phantom @ The Majesty's Theatre... had Stall seats... is the highest one... was not very very fantastic view... fine. given the price we paid...

talking about the show then.. was beautiful.. i like the costumes... so grand and 'big' and 'flow-y'... and definitely the backdrops and set and how it was designed to create a night scene or suddenly a basement scene or a room or a stage... =)

night scene... even the stars will blink... and the lights of the so called 'city' behind will flicker...

basement scene... Phantom stayed in the basement of the theatre... so when he dragged Christine to the basement, there went through a stairs on the floor of the stage... and all of the sudden, they appeared on the stairs at the top of the backdrop... and as they walk down the slanted walkway from top left to right, the walkway will gradually move down with a pivot point on the right and then the walkway will gradually move down again with a pivoting point on the left... and till they reach the bottom...
Then, they enter the stage with Christine laying on the 'boat' and phamton rowing it... by then, the floor of the stage was already filled with 'smoke' and also little light bulbs and big 'candle' light stands... and as the boat row gently and smoothly to the central of the stage, those lights and candle will gradually go down to let the boat row past... Amazing isn't it?? =) Go watch the musical.. it is definitely worth it..

And indeed, it is famous not for no good reason... the story plot was captivating... the ending was really magical and till now i still can't figure it out... and when Christine chose to stay with the 'normal' guy, Phantom let her go.. i teared... given that Phantom really done many things to help her gain the success and popularity she ultimately had on the musical stage... and how talented Phantom is...

Rating: for entertainment : 7.5 (on scale of 10 being the utmost fantastic fabulous event that can ever happen to Fanny)
