As you may already known, i have several teachers aka mentors that i learn from...

And one of the most never-stop-challenging-life man that i have met talked about this show - Babel - in one of his sessions...

That was one day before 2007 first SCS!
Quoted from him: 'He was there in search of some 'ling2 gan3' to the topic that he was to talk about the following day...'

'This show was so dry.. that i thought of walking out in the midst of it... but i stopped to think... why did Brad Pitt took up such a show? Maybe there is going to be some catch to this, more than just a desert and sand filled show...'

Till now, i ain't sure what was his exact thoughts about this show... But i had tons from mii...

This show is considered one of the most 'ling4 lei4' (=special) show that i had ever watched...

-the way it is filmed-to
-the message it is to bring across-to
-the actions of the pple in the show- all struck a chord deep down in me...

Many learning points that i found in this show:-
~1~Characteristics of American in the show.
Law by law = inflexible
Win by volume = Out to scare those of lower rank or minority

~2~The rage of arms race
Incorrect use of killer weapons = unnecessary hurting of innocent individuals
Being used by weapons = damaging intricate relationships

~3~Love for fellow humans
Selfishness = Never able to love more people
Ditching pple in need of help = Never open enough to accept help

~4~Unhappy childhood
Unhappy character = Low Self-esteem; tend to not love oneself's physique
Torned relationship with parents = Seeking love from outside, sacrificing unnecessarily to find out in the end that it's parental love the greatest love on earth...


The beauty of this show is it's openess to depict many issues outrightly in a very subtle way...
And whatever is one's dawning realisation defer from the anyone in the same cinema...

Yes, this show is rather sad but ended with a happier tone...
Yes, this show is rather sadistic but i found this inner happiness & strength that i want and have to spread the love...
Yes, this show is rather a lousy reflection on human characteristics but i maintain and even more firmly arched that 'ren2 xin4 ben3 shan4' = 'Basic characteristic of human lies in being Good'

Found a new strength to do sth more... in my very own way...
